NYK Australia Pty Ltd is currently searching to fill a full-time General Manager for Dry Bulk Marine Quality Control position located in Melbourne.

The tasks of this role include the following:

- Vessel operation safety: Plan and organise quality systems to support vessel operation safety by communicating with NYK Tokyo operators. To collect local regulation and share with NYK Tokyo.

- Rightship quality control: Implement control mechanisms to establish high safety standards with Rightship.

- Port Authority/AMSA quality control: Establish high safety standard with Port Authority / AMSA.

- Vessel nomination support: Support vessel nomination with confirming Rightship Safety Score, GHG emissions rating and Standard Vetting Criteria.

- Vessel attend:



Support quality aspects of vessel’s loading cargo operation in Oceania region.

- Emergency response: To perform emergency response with concerned party including NYK Tokyo Marine Division when incidents happen in Oceania region.

- Customer support: Support Australia /NZ customers with Tokyo sales department of Dry Bulk division and Providing new green business related marine technical support.

Skills and experience required for the position:

- Bachelor’s degree in commerce or related field

- At least 4 years' experience in relation to quality control issues relating to loading of dry bulk on/off cargo vessels

- Experience as ships' chief officer and / or captain

- Solid knowledge of the Rightship quality control requirements

- Understanding of the objectives of the International Safety Management Code and the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code
