ABOUT US

Cargo Crew’s mission is to ethically and sustainably build brands through the design, manufacture and supply of quality modern uniforms that clients and their teams want to wear.

We’re passionate about great design, quality, exceptional customer experiences and creating uniforms that help build brands.

Cargo Crew is an energetic and inspirational workplace where no day is the same. We value Innovation, Ethical Behaviour, Passion, Openness, Execution and Perseverance, and we work with people who share these values.

As we continue to accelerate our global growth, we’re looking for an experienced Global Head of Planning to lead our Planning function and ensure we have the right product, in the right place, at the right time.

THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a critical leadership role responsible for Cargo Crew’s global merchandise and inventory planning across our Australian and US markets.

You’ll lead the Planning team and own the end-to-end planning process — from forecasting, inventory and OTB through to buying recommendations, pricing, margin analysis and critical path management.

This is a highly commercial and hands-on role. You’ll turn data into clear insights and recommendations, enabling the business to make faster, smarter decisions as we scale globally.

You’ll work closely with our Product, Design, Sourcing, Sales and Operations teams, providing the analysis and leadership needed to optimise inventory, improve availability and support profitable growth.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Global Merchandise & Inventory Planning

- Own global inventory planning across our Australian and US warehouses.
- Manage inventory to SKU level, balancing stock availability, safety stock and working capital.
- Build buying plans from sales forecasts, major customer rollouts and targeted inventory positions.

- Own the OTB and provide clear recommendations on order quantities and delivery phasing.
- Lead the monthly buy process and present recommendations and rationale to the Executive Team.
- Proactively identify slow-moving and obsolete inventory and recommend appropriate actions.

Commercial Analysis & Decision Making

- Analyse sales, margin and inventory performance across products, categories, colours, regions and customers.
- Track and improve forecast accuracy, sell-through, stock turn, stock cover and availability.
- Provide recommendations on pricing, customer-specific pricing and discount structures.
- Support major tenders and enterprise customer opportunities through commercial and inventory modelling.
- Model the impact of FX, tariffs, freight and raw material movements and recommend appropriate actions.
- Analyse and recommend the most commercially appropriate freight options, including sea versus air freight.

Critical Path & Supply Chain

- Own the critical path from design sign-off through to order placement and stock landing in our warehouses.
- Keep key stakeholders informed of milestones, risks and changes.
- Plan around global supply-chain events and disruptions, including Chinese New Year, Eid, Ramadan and Golden Week.

Leadership & Collaboration

- Lead, coach and develop the Planning team, setting clear priorities, KPIs and ways of working.
- Partner closely with Sales and Operations to ensure appropriate inventory levels across markets.
- Collaborate with Product, Design and Sourcing throughout the product lifecycle.

- Champion process improvement and use NetSuite, NetStock, AI and emerging technology to improve planning capability and efficiency.

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU?

You’ll bring:

- 7+ years’ experience in merchandise/inventory planning, including at least 3 years in a senior planning leadership role.
- Apparel planning experience is essential.
- Strong experience managing inventory, forecasting, OTB, buying and stock performance.
- Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing Planning teams.
- Exceptional commercial acumen and the ability to turn complex data into clear recommendations and decisions.
- Strong forecasting and analytical capability with experience using planning and ERP systems.
- Confidence presenting recommendations to senior leaders and influencing business decisions.
- Strong interpersonal skills — you’re credible, collaborative and able to build relationships across the business.
- A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to move at pace in a growing, entrepreneurial environment.
- Confidence working across global markets and time zones.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Success in this role will be measured through forecast accuracy, stock availability, stock turn and cover, critical-path delivery, appropriate inventory levels across our global warehouses and strong cross-functional delivery of key projects.

BENEFITS

- Hybrid working arrangements
- Free onsite parking at our Bundoora office
- Paid parental leave
- Access to our EAP
- Regular culture activities
- Access to our employee benefits program

If you’re a commercial, hands-on merchandise planning leader who loves apparel, data and making things happen, and you’re excited by the chance to help shape the next stage of a growing global brand- we’d love to hear from you.
