12-month parental leave cover | 0.8 FTE, 4 days per week | Ultimo

$75,000–$80,000 FTE plus up to 17% superannuation, pro-rata to 0.8 FTE

Preferred start date: 7 December 2026

Creativity at ActivateUTS goes well beyond a single brand or format. One day you could be creating campaign assets for a major campus event, and the next designing venue signage, menus, social media content or promotional material for one of our commercial or student-facing services.

Working within our Brand and Design team, you will translate briefs into engaging creative solutions that connect with students, staff and the wider UTS community. This is an opportunity to manage creative projects from concept through to production while helping maintain a consistent and distinctive brand presence across digital, print and physical touchpoints.

About ActivateUTS

ActivateUTS brings the UTS experience to life beyond the classroom. We run 190+ student clubs and societies (39,000+ memberships), support 455 elite athletes across 44 sports, and delivered over 5,800 events last year. Our commercial venues, including Aerial Function Centre, The Underground, The Loft on Broadway, The Terrace, ActivateFit.Gym and the UTS Store, generate revenue that is fully reinvested into student programs and experiences.

We are a not-for-profit of around 60 permanent staff and 100+ casuals across hospitality, fitness, events, retail and student engagement, all on one campus in the heart of the city.

About the Role The Graphic Designer plays a central role within the Brand and Design team, bringing creativity and visual communication expertise to support the ActivateUTS brand across digital, print and physical touchpoints.

Reporting to the Head of Brand and Design and working as part of a two-person design team, you will produce high-quality creative assets that engage students, staff and the wider UTS community. From event collateral and internal communications to commercial promotions and campaign assets, you will translate briefs into compelling visuals that consistently align with ActivateUTS and its sub-brand identities.

You will manage projects from initial concept through to final production, collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, and contribute to creative brainstorming, team planning and the continuous improvement of brand outputs.

This is a 12-month fixed-term parental leave cover position, ordinarily worked at 0.8 FTE across four days per week, equivalent to 30.4 hours per week.

The position may temporarily increase to full-time hours during peak periods, typically from January to March, or where business demand requires. Any increase in hours will be discussed with the employee and will be subject to approval based on operational requirements.

The preferred commencement date is 7 December 2026, with an earlier start date of 30 November 2026 potentially available depending on the successful candidate’s availability.
