About the role:
The Group Payroll Officer role is responsible for delivering accurate, compliant and timely end-to-end payroll processing across the Group using payroll system such as Employment Hero. Reporting into the Group Payroll Manager, the role ensures payroll outcomes are managed in accordance with applicable modern awards, enterprise agreements, employment contracts, statutory obligations and Company policies and procedures. The position manages the full payroll lifecycle, including employee master data, timesheet and leave processing, pay calculations,
payroll reviews, adjustments, reporting, reconciliations and finalisation activities.
It requires strong working knowledge of payroll tax, superannuation requirements, PAYG withholding, STP reporting and year-end obligations.
About you:
Minimum 3 years’ experience with at least 700 employees • Demonstrated knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and statutory obligations, including payroll tax, Superannuation Guarantee, PAYG withholding, STP reporting and Fair Work requirements.
- Strong experience interpreting and applying modern awards, enterprise agreements and employment contracts to determine correct pay rates, allowances, penalties, overtime, leave and termination entitlements.
- Familiarity with STP, ATO reporting and year-end processes.
- Strong hands-on capability using payroll systems, with experience in Employment Hero highly regarded.
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles as they relate to payroll, including accruals, reconciliations and general ledger interfaces.
- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection principles relating to payroll and employee records.
- Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll processing in a medium-to-large, complex organisation.
