ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic reliable qualified Head chef for a new opportunity within the business to lead a team located in Bendigo, VIC. We're looking for a well organised person with previous experience in a fast-paced workplace. This opportunity will suit a hardworking and dependable individual that would like to become a pivotal member of our team.
We require a Head Chef that is valuable at keeping up the positive culture especially when the pressure is on. A calm positive attitude and is set on creating a controlled and enjoyable environment.
An attractive salary commensurate to experience will be offered to the right person.
The ability to work Split Shifts, Weekends & Public holidays is a must.

The role will include
· Leading and supervising the kitchen team.
· Planning, developing, costing and implementing menus.
· Managing food costs and maintaining appropriate wage budgets.
· Rostering kitchen staff.
· Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation and consistency.
· Ensuring compliance with food safety,
health and workplace safety requirements.
· Coordinating kitchen operations for functions and events; and
· Working collaboratively with the wider management and hospitality team.
· The successful applicant will be required to work split shifts, weekends and public holidays.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE To be successful in this role, you will have:
· Relevant qualifications in Commercial Cookery, such as diploma in hospitality or higher.
· Previous experience working as a Head Chef, Sous Chef or in a senior kitchen role in a pub, bistro, restaurant or similar commercial kitchen environment.
· Experience leading and supervising kitchen staff.
· Experience with functions and events.
· Demonstrated experience with menu planning, costing and implementation.
· Experience with rostering, wage-budget management and food-cost control.
· Extensive knowledge of food preparation, handling and food safety requirements.
· Strong organisational and communication skills.
· Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment; and
· A strong commitment to maintaining consistent food quality and presentation standards.
Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
