Head of Technology – Industrial & Defence

We're looking for a Head of Technology to join a growing Perth-based industrial organisation in a permanent position. You'll have full ownership of the technology function, covering enterprise systems, operational technology, data, infrastructure and cyber security.

It's a chance for a commercially minded technology leader to set the direction of a business that treats technology as a priority for growth. The role includes leading a major ERP transformation and helping shape how AI and automation are used across the organisation.

- $200,000 base + super

THE ROLE You'll report to the executive team and look after the organisation's full technology workplace. Your first priority is delivering a large-scale ERP program. After that, you'll build a strong data foundation across the business, keep IT operations secure and reliable, and put in place the security and compliance framework needed for Defence and regulated markets.

Key responsibilities include:

- Lead the ERP program from strategy and vendor selection through to delivery, adoption and ongoing improvement.
- Own the integration architecture across enterprise, CRM, project management and digital platforms.
- Oversee the delivery of digital and customer-facing platforms.
- Take ownership of operational and production systems, including planning and scheduling.




- Manage engineering and design data across the business.
- Drive connectivity between operational equipment and business systems so that real-time data can be captured.
- Establish and govern the enterprise data warehouse and master data model.
- Identify, trial and scale AI and automation opportunities.
- Manage infrastructure, networks, cloud services, devices and end-user support.
- Oversee the technology budget, licensing, vendor contracts and managed service partners.
- Develop the cyber security and compliance roadmap, covering Essential Eight, ISO 27001 and DISP.
- Act as a nominated security officer under the organisation's DISP membership.
- Build and lead the internal team alongside contractors, vendors and integration partners.
- Deliver the technology roadmap, business cases and executive reporting.

THE COMPANY A well-established Australian organisation operating across the industrial and Defence sectors. It is going through a period of growth and has made technology, data and security a strategic priority for the next stage of that growth. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- 10+ years in senior technology leadership, enterprise architecture or systems architecture roles.




- Proven track record leading a large-scale ERP implementation, ideally in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with operational technology, including production systems, scheduling, engineering data and equipment integration.
- Hands-on understanding of IT operations, infrastructure, networks, licensing and budget management.
- Strong background in systems integration and data architecture.
- Working knowledge of Essential Eight, ISO 27001, DISP or similar security frameworks.
- A progressive, curious approach to AI and automation.
- Demonstrated ability to build, lead and develop technical teams.
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to link technology investment to business outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills and credibility with stakeholders at all levels, from operational teams to the boardroom.
- Experience in manufacturing, mining, industrial or Defence sectors highly regarded.
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related discipline.
