Reporting to the HSE leadership team, you will lead the site’s health, safety and training functions, providing strategic direction while ensuring strong operational delivery across the business.

Key responsibilities include

- Driving a positive and proactive safety culture across site operations
- Leading safety systems, compliance programs and critical risk management frameworks
- Managing incident investigations, audits, inspections and continuous improvement initiatives
- Overseeing emergency preparedness, contractor management and workforce health programs
- Partnering with operational leaders to strengthen accountability and safe work practices
- Leading all training and competency activities
- Managing inductions, statutory training requirements and competency compliance systems
- Identifying workforce capability gaps and implementing development programs
- Leading and developing the training team to deliver high-quality learning outcomes

To be successful,



you will bring a strong background in health and safety leadership within heavy industry or a similarly complex operational environment.

You will also possess

- Tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience leading safety performance and culture improvement initiatives
- Strong knowledge of Victorian OHS legislation and mining safety regulations
- Experience with incident investigation methodologies such as ICAM or equivalent
- Proven capability in risk management, compliance and safety assurance programs
- Experience overseeing training, competency and workforce development functions
- Exceptional leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
- A proactive approach with the confidence to influence behaviours and drive change
- Strong analytical, planning and organisational capabilities
