Your role:

As a Navy Helicopter Avionics Technician, you’ll maintain the high-tech systems and components that make advanced military helicopters so much more interesting to work on than ordinary civilian aircraft.

You’ll be responsible for maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair, supporting the safe and efficient operation of helicopters onboard ships and ashore. Initially you’ll work with Seahawk Romeo helicopters and may also be assigned to a variety of other Navy aircraft, including unmanned aerial vehicles.

Whether you already have a trade, you're an apprentice, or you have no experience at all, we're hiring. You’ll be paid from day one to gain all the skills needed with extensive on-the-job trade training and work towards a Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics).

- Anti-submarine systems

- Aircraft weapons and armament

- Navigational systems

- Radar, sonar and doppler systems

Salary:

Competitive Salary + Generous Superannuation of 16.4%

Get paid to train from day one and earn a salary: $60,517 per year

Upon completion of your initial military and employment training, you’ll enjoy a salary package starting from $95,741 per year.

Period of Service requirements:

General Entry Sailor roles now have an Initial Minimum Period of Service (IMPS) between 2 and 3 years for all applicants.

Eligibility:

- For this role, you must be at least 17 at the time of enlistment, an Australian Citizen, and have passes in Year 10 English, Maths and Science.
