We’re seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Laboratory Assistant to join our dedicated Histology team in Toowoomba. In this hands-on role, you will support essential laboratory operations to ensure timely and accurate results.

Your key duties will include:

- Specimen registration and batching

- Accessioning, embedding, and microtomy

- Conducting special stain procedures

- Routine equipment maintenance and housekeeping tasks

What we are looking for The ideal candidate will have an enthusiastic attitude, a strong attention to detail, and proven ability to perform effectively in a busy laboratory environment.

You will also have

- Excellent communication and customer service skills

- Flexibility to work rostered shifts between 5:00am and 07:30pm, Monday to Friday, and weekends as required
- A current driver’s licence

- Willingness to assist across departments when needed

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

While not required, the following experience will be highly regarded:

- Previous exposure to histology processes such as accessioning, microtomy, embedding, and staining

- Familiarity with the Apollo Laboratory Information System (LIS)
