The school is seeking teachers with strong practical experience across Home Economics, Food Technology and/or Textiles , with opportunities available across both part-time fixed-term and ongoing employment.

About the Role
These positions will provide an opportunity to teach Home Economics, Food Technology and/or Textiles across the secondary years, with the exact teaching allocation dependent on the successful candidate's experience and capabilities.
The school is particularly interested in teachers who can bring strong practical classroom experience to their programs. Candidates who can confidently deliver engaging, hands-on Food Technology and Home Economics learning experiences are encouraged to apply.
Opportunities include
- 0.6 FTE, 12-month fixed-term Home Economics / Textiles position
- 0.8 FTE, ongoing Home Economics / Textiles / Junior Humanities position
The school is open to considering teachers with different combinations of Home Economics,
Food Technology and Textiles experience, provided they can demonstrate strong practical capability and a genuine passion for these subject areas.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Home Economics, Food Technology and/or Textiles lessons
- Provide practical, hands-on learning experiences that develop students' knowledge and skills
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and creativity
- Assess student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback
- Contribute to curriculum planning and the ongoing development of practical-subject programs
- Collaborate with colleagues to support student learning, wellbeing and engagement
- Maintain a safe, well-organised and appropriately managed practical learning environment
You will have
- Tertiary qualifications in Education and/or a relevant subject area
- Current or pending Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration
- Demonstrated experience teaching Home Economics, Food Technology and/or Textiles
- Strong practical experience and confidence delivering hands-on learning programs
- Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
- A genuine passion for practical education and developing students' skills and confidence
- The ability to work collaboratively within a supportive school environment
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of child safety and student wellbeing
- The ability to work comfortably within an independent school environment with a values-based educational approach
