The Role

We're looking for an experienced Cyber Security Governance and Assurance Specialist to support a Defence program in Edinburgh. This is a genuinely independent role -- you'll conduct structured cyber risk assessments, provide assurance over contractor-developed solutions, and ensure cyber security activities operate within established Defence ICT, security and engineering frameworks.

You'll support industry partners by providing transparent, achievable and compliant requirements, and may also be called on to mentor and guide other cyber security staff across the wider program.

Key Responsibilities

- Apply Cyber Governance, Risk &
- Compliance principles and processes
- Conduct and support accurate, structured and evidence-based cyber risk assessments
- Review and assure solutions developed by appropriately qualified subject matter experts
- Operate within established Defence ICT, security and engineering frameworks
- Provide governance and assurance of support contractor cyber resources and activities
- Support industry partners by providing clear, achievable and compliant requirements
- Carry out all aspects of the role effectively and independently

Required

- Current NV1 security clearance
- Familiarity with Cyber Governance, Risk &
- Compliance principles and processes
- Experience conducting structured,



evidence-based cyber risk assessments
- Experience reviewing and assuring technical solutions developed by other subject matter experts
- Ability to operate within established Defence ICT, security and engineering frameworks
- Ability to work effectively and independently
- Capability to mentor and guide Commonwealth and other cyber security staff highly regarded
- Familiarity with network segregation and security domain boundaries highly regarded
- Familiarity with cryptographic controls and FMS/export constraints highly regarded
- Familiarity with approved Defence architectures and integration limitations highly regarded

Salary

$170,000 - $175,000 (Package incl. Super), pro rata for the duration of this engagement
