Role Description The Intermediate Accountant is a full-time on-site role based in Brunswick, VIC. The role involves preparing financial statements, managing general ledger reconciliations, and assisting with monthly and annual reporting for a range of clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and lodging tax returns and BAS, supporting bookkeeping and payroll processes, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and taxation standards.

The Intermediate

Accountant will communicate with clients to gather required information, respond to queries, and provide basic advisory support under the guidance of senior team members.



The role also includes assisting with process improvements and maintaining accurate documentation and records.

Qualifications

- Solid knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including experience with financial statement preparation and general ledger reconciliations.
- Experience with taxation compliance such as individual and business tax returns, BAS, and GST reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting and bookkeeping software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to build qualified relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; progress towards CPA or CA accreditation is highly regarded.
- Previous experience in public practice or a similar accounting environment is preferred.
