Our Perth Resources team is seeking an enthusiastic Intern Instrument & Controls Engineer to join us as part of the Jacobs Summer Internship Program commencing in November 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting projects across the mining and resources sector while working alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists. You'll be exposed to a variety of projects and technologies and have the opportunity to develop practical engineering skills in a collaborative and supportive environment.

As an Intern Instrument & Controls Engineer, you'll contribute to a range of activities, including

- Supporting the design and development of instrumentation and control systems for resources projects.
- Assisting with instrumentation selection, control philosophies and engineering calculations.
- Contributing to technical documentation, reports, specifications and engineering deliverables.
- Working alongside multidisciplinary teams including electrical, process, structural and mechanical engineers.
- Participating in project meetings and learning about project delivery processes within a consulting environment.




- Gaining exposure to digital and automation technologies that support modern mining and industrial operations.

Here's what you'll need We're looking for students who
- Are currently studying a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Will have completed at least their second year of university study by November 2026.
- Have a genuine interest in instrumentation, control systems, automation and the resources sector.
- Demonstrate robust problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
- Enjoy working collaboratively and are eager to learn from experienced professionals.
- Hold full working rights in Australia for the duration of the internship.
