About Advance Delivery Legal (ADL)
ADL has built a reputation for cost-effectively resourcing elements of large matters while guaranteeing the standards that clients expect from A&O; Shearman as well as developing expertise in a wide range of smaller matters and activities. ADL also drives efficiencies by prioritising the use of legal technology on matters and to streamline processes.
Our Corporate team is comprised of high-quality, tech-optimised associates and legal professionals. We work on a range of corporate matters, with a particular focus on M&A;, private equity, and large-scale reorganisations.
The team provides support to offices across our global network, working on high profile transactions with global clients.
What you will do
- Develop strong working relationships with Partners and Associates from other offices, interacting with them daily as an extension to their team to support on current transactions and other corporate or commercial matters.
- Provide legal expertise, including issue spotting, report writing, drafting, reviewing and amending documentation, document management and legal research.
- Work with our Legal Process Improvement and Legal Tech teams to develop current solutions that help our clients (both internal and external) grow, innovate and thrive, and support the integration of technology into the everyday work of the Corporate team.
- Manage and liaise with internal and external clients to address points of relevance or concern, resolve queries and issues and report on progress.
- Represent and promote ADL across the A&O; Shearman global network in meetings, instructing team discussions and with internal clients.
- Develop strong working relationships with colleagues across the global network and contribute positively to team development and collaboration.
Key requirements
- Qualified solicitor, with the ability to hold an Australian practising certificate.
- Ideally 1 - 3 years post qualification experience gained in private practice, an in-house legal team or a commercial legal environment.
- Experience in a Corporate, M&A;, commercial or transactional legal environment. Experience in due diligence, corporate transactions, private equity, reorganisations, company law advisory work, NDAs or commercial contract negotiation will be highly regarded.
- Experienced at managing competing priorities and coordinating complex matters.
- Are commercially minded, adaptable and comfortable working in a dynamic and evolving environment.
- Enjoy building relationships and collaborating with colleagues across teams, offices and jurisdictions.
- Have a genuine interest in legal technology, innovation and improving the way legal services are delivered.
- Flexible, resourceful, and prepared to take a hands-on-approach, comfortable operating in a rapidly evolving business and interested in identifying and shaping that evolution.
