Smart Landscapes is a landscape design, construction and maintenance business based in Mornington. We create residential gardens and outdoor spaces and look after many of them long after they're built. We're looking for a junior landscape designer to join our small team and grow alongside our lead designer. This role suits a recent graduate or someone with 1–2 years' experience. You'll see a project through its whole life: design, construction and ongoing maintenance, all in one business.
Key responsibilities
- Helping prepare concept plans, detailed designs and planting plans for residential projects
- Producing drawings, 3D visuals and presentation material for client meetings
- Carrying out site visits and measures, and preparing site analysis
- Preparing construction drawings and documentation for our build team
- Helping with plant and material selections and specifications
- Liaising with our construction and maintenance crews so designs work on site and hold up over time
- Attending client meetings,
and taking on more client contact as you build confidence
About you
- A Certificate IV or Diploma of Landscape Design (TAFE or equivalent), or currently completing one
- Knowledge of Vectorworks or similar CAD program
- Good plant knowledge, ideally suited to all different types of gardens
- Strong hand-sketching and visual communication skills
- An eye for detail, and an interest in how gardens are built and how they mature
- Good communication skills and a willingness to learn
- Current driver's licence
