Join the dynamic team at ALAND as a full-time Junior WHS Officer based in Parramatta, NSW. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety and environmental compliance of our construction operations, contributing to the well-being of our workforce and the success of our projects.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in implementing and monitor WHS policies, procedures and systems to maintain compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
- Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, implement corrective actions and report findings to senior management
- Assist in providing WHS training and support to project teams, promoting a positive safety culture
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders on WHS matters
- Maintain comprehensive WHS records and documentation
- Continuously review and improve WHS practices to drive continuous improvement
About you
- Tertiary qualification or Certificate 4 in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
- Minimum 1 years' experience in a similar Junior Safety Officer or Safety Advisor role, preferably in the construction industry
- Demonstrated understanding of WHS legislation, regulations and best practices
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive, analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement
- Willing to work 6 days per week
