Join Rise as a Kaya Worker and support people throughout their mental health recovery journey. Working closely with clients, you'll provide advocacy, guidance and practical support while also using your lived experience and knowledge to help strengthen culturally safe, recovery-focused services across the wider team.
With our Helen's Place Office (Middle Swan) as your base, you'll support clients throughout the East Metro, combining office and community visits as required. This is a full-time, fixed-term role until 30th June 2028 working Monday to Friday, with flexibility around start/finish and some hybrid work-from-home.
What you'll be doing
- Building strong, trusting relationships that foster hope and empowerment
- Supporting clients to identify strengths, achieve personal goals and increase community participation
- Connecting clients with the right supports through warm referrals and coordinated care
- Working alongside clients, families, carers, community organisations and internal teams to achieve positive outcomes
- Providing lived experience and recovery-focused insight to help shape culturally secure and recovery-focused services
- Contributing to a positive team culture and sharing your knowledge with others
- Maintaining accurate records and supporting quality service delivery
?? The need-to-have…
Here at Rise, we nurture potential, but we do need you to have a few tricks up your sleeve including the following:
- Relevant qualifications and/or experience in Mental Health, Community Services, Peer Work or a related field
- Lived experience of mental health challenges and personal recovery
- Experience supporting people experiencing mental health challenges or other complex needs
- Knowledge of recovery-oriented, trauma-informed and culturally safe practice
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to work independently, take initiative and work collaboratively with others
- Strong administrative and documentation skills
- A current Australian Driver's Licence is required for this role.
- Applicants must have current working rights and be residing in Australia. Unfortunately, we are currently unable to offer visa sponsorship.
