Azooa is preparing a response for a Department of Defence opportunity and is seeking a project costing specialist to support Army Headquarters’ Land C4 Development Team. The role develops robust cost evidence for LAND 4140 capability prioritisation, affordability and investment decisions.

THE PROSPECT

Location: Russell Offices, Canberra, ACT

Term: 1 January to 31 December 2027

Extensions: Up to two further 12-month periods at Defence’s discretion

Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week

Clearance: Minimum Australian Government NV1 held before commencement and maintained throughout

Workplace: Russell Offices. Flexible working arrangements may be considered after award, subject to Defence requirements; they are not guaranteed.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Working to SO1 LC4 Development, you will support cost estimation, affordability analysis and financial planning across LAND 4140 work packages and capability tranches. You will collaborate with Land Capability Division, Capability Development Division, Delivery Group stakeholders and Defence Finance Group.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop and maintain cost estimates and models for LAND 4140 capability development and future submissions.
- Coordinate costing across work packages, capability tranches and related Land C4 initiatives.
- Conduct affordability assessments, options analyses and cost comparisons.
- Maintain cost assumptions,



supporting evidence and traceability for governance and assurance.
- Support budget forecasts, expenditure analysis and financial planning.
- Prepare cost and affordability briefs, submissions and decision-support material.
- Analyse the cost implications of competing investment options and support prioritisation.
- Engage Defence stakeholders on costing, affordability and investment planning.
- Support audits, assurance activities and program governance.

REQUIRED SKILLS

- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to develop, maintain and clearly explain cost models and supporting evidence.
- Ability to analyse and present complex financial information.
- Excellent Microsoft Office and information systems skills.
- Strong written, verbal and stakeholder communication.
- NV1 clearance before commencement and throughout the engagement.
