The Opportunity:
We are seeking a motivated second or third-year law student to join our Parramatta office as a Law Clerk within our Personal Injury team.
This casual position offers three days of work per week and provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a well-established and highly regarded personal injury practice.
Working closely with experienced lawyers, you will develop practical legal skills, gain exposure to a broad range of personal injury matters and play an active role in supporting clients through significant and often life-changing circumstances.
We are looking for a proactive and dependable team member who takes pride in their work, enjoys building strong relationships, and is eager to contribute to a cooperative and supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaising with clients and maintaining skilled client relationships
- Preparation of correspondence, court documents, statements, and subpoenas
- Assisting with matter preparation and file progression
- Attending court, mediations and settlements
- Conducting legal research and court filing as required
- Extensive file and document management
- Responding to solicitor and client enquiries
- Diary management and scheduling support
- Ad hoc assistance across a broad range of tasks, from basic administrative work to substantive legal matters
Successful Candidates Will Have:
- Be currently completing a Bachelor of Laws and have completed at least their first year of study
- A genuine interest in personal injury law and a desire to develop a long-term career in this area
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- The ability to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A willingness to assist with both legal and administrative tasks
- A proactive, positive and team-oriented approach
- A professional, confident and empathetic manner when dealing with clients
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Outlook
