We are representing a highly regarded national law practice seeking an experienced Lawyer to join its growing Cyber team in Sydney or Melbourne.
The role
This role offers exposure to sophisticated cyber matters, advising insurers and corporate clients on cyber incidents, data breaches, privacy obligations, coverage issues and related disputes. You will be involved from the initial response to an incident through to its resolution, working closely with clients, insurers, technical experts and other key stakeholders.
You will advise on regulatory and notification obligations, cyber insurance coverage and recoveries, as well as disputes and potential litigation arising from significant incidents. The role also provides opportunities to act as coverage and monitoring counsel on complex cyber matters and contribute to strategic decision-making throughout the response process.
Working directly with experienced Partners, you will have meaningful client contact and responsibility for matters while developing specialist expertise in a rapidly evolving area of law. The team offers strong mentoring,

About You
- 3+ years' post-admission experience in cyber, financial lines, insurance or commercial litigation
- Experience advising on cyber incidents, privacy, data breaches or insurance matters will be highly regarded
- Strong litigation, drafting and analytical skills with the ability to navigate complex and time-sensitive issues
- Commercially minded with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Confident working directly with clients, insurers and other qualified and technical stakeholders
- Highly organised and capable of managing competing priorities and deadlines
- Proactive, collaborative and interested in developing specialist expertise in cyber and insurance law
