SESLHD is one of the largest local health districts in Sydney, covering a geographical area of 468 square kilometres from Sydney’s central business district, the beaches from Bondi to Cronulla and down to the Royal National Park. We deliver health care to around 930,000 residents across the local government areas of Woollahra, Waverley, Randwick, Bayside, Georges River and the Sutherland Shire. We also provide a key role in helping residents of Lord Howe Island.
Our staff also deliver high quality health care across a variety of community-based services ranging from pre-birth to palliative care.
The Role The Lead Pharmacy Technician - Production will work with the Lead Pharmacist - Cancer Care Services and the Specialist Pharmacist - Compounding and Quality Assurance to provide a high quality, safe, efficient and effective service for preparation of pharmaceutical and advanced therapeutic products.
The role will be responsible for supervision, education, training and technical support in compounding and Quality Assurance (QA) practices for staff in the pharmacy department.

Selection Criteria:
1. Successful completion of a nationally recognised Pharmacy Technician Certificate Course at Certificate Level IV or has qualifications deemed by the employer to be equivalent.
2.
Demonstrated pharmacy experience and competency in performing complex tasks under supervision of a pharmacist in specialist areas of practice such as cytotoxic drug reconstitution, sterile production or clinical trials.
3. Demonstrated ability to effectively use workplace information technology, experience with hospital pharmacy computer systems (e.g. iPharmacy), electronic medical records and clinical applications
4. Demonstrated high level customer service, written and verbal communication skills.
5. Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team with a high degree of self-motivation and ability to effect practice change.
7. Demonstrated involvement in quality improvement activities, writing guidelines and safe work practices.
8. Demonstrated skills in supervising, co-ordinating and training staff.
