To be considered for this position you must be an employee of South Eastern Sydney Local Health District and its Affiliated Health Organisations.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced pharmacist to join our energetic team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with pharmacy, nursing and medical staff, Patient Safety Managers, and consumers to champion safe medication practices across the hospital. You will lead initiatives such as Medication Safety Walkarounds, oversee the Safe Use of Medicines Committee, and contribute to incident reviews and policy development.

This is a unique prospect to drive quality improvement, support NSQHS Standard 4 compliance, and develop your skills in clinical leadership and interdisciplinary collaboration while making a meaningful impact on patient care.

Full-time employment is preferred, however job share arrangements will be considered for suitably qualified candidates.

Where you'll be working

SESLHD is one of the largest local health districts in Sydney, covering a geographical area of 468 square kilometres from Sydney’s central business district, the beaches from Bondi to Cronulla and down to the Royal National Park. We deliver health care to around 930,000 residents across the local government areas of Woollahra, Waverley, Randwick, Bayside, Georges River and the Sutherland Shire. We also provide a key role in helping residents of Lord Howe Island.

Our staff also deliver high quality health care across a variety of community-based services ranging from pre-birth to palliative care.

The Role The Lead Pharmacist, Medication Safety is a leadership and clinical role.

The purpose of the role is to lead the provision of comprehensive pharmacy services across St George Hospital and affiliated services for the defined practice area of Medication Safety.

The role will work collaboratively at both the site/service level and across the district to maintain leadership and effective performance of the provision of pharmacy services.





All Lead Pharmacist roles are integral members of the St George Hospital pharmacy leadership team to provide strategic, clinical and operational objectives for the pharmacy service. The position will have joint responsibility with other Team Leader and Lead Pharmacist positions, to maintain leadership, management and continuity of service provision of the pharmacy service across all operational hours.
