About the role

7R Logistics is seeking a skilled and experienced Truck Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis in Gympie, QLD 4570. This is a hands-on position that is critical to maintaining the safety, reliability and operational efficiency of our commercial vehicle fleet. As a Truck Mechanic, you will play an essential role in ensuring our vehicles remain roadworthy and compliant with all regulatory requirements, directly supporting the success of our logistics operations.

Key responsibilities

- Perform routine maintenance and servicing on heavy commercial vehicles, including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks and lubrication
- Diagnose mechanical faults and malfunctions using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge
- Repair and replace faulty components including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems and electrical systems
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all maintenance and repair work completed
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
- Liaise with drivers and operational staff to understand vehicle issues and communicate repair timelines
- Perform welding and fabrication work as required for vehicle repairs and modifications
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment

What we're looking for

- A recognised qualification in Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Engineering or equivalent trade qualification
- Minimum 3 years' experience working as a mechanic, preferably with heavy commercial vehicles or trucks
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems and suspension
- Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and mechanical tools




- Working knowledge of health and safety regulations and workplace safety procedures
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
- A valid Australian driver's licence is essential
- Physical fitness and ability to work in a hands-on environment, including working at heights and in confined spaces
- Preferably, experience with fleet maintenance or working in a logistics environment
