Are you passionate about preparing future educators to confidently teach design and digital technologies? We are seeking an innovative and collaborative Lecturer who is passionate about excellence in teaching, curriculum design and pedagogical practice. Dedicated to advancing the field of Design and Digital Technologies, you will contribute to high-quality teaching, impactful research, and meaningful engagement across our Initial Teacher Education, Master of Education and Digital Design programs.

This role offers the opportunity to inspire future educators across diverse learning contexts - including regional, rural, and remote settings - while contributing to locally grounded, globally relevant research and curriculum design that supports transformational educational outcomes.

What you'll do

As a Lecturer within the School of Education and Creative Arts, you will contribute to high-quality learning and teaching outcomes and to the University’s engagement, service and scholarly objectives.

In this role, you will:

- Deliver engaging and reflective student-centred teaching methods across face-to-face and blended modes leveraging digital technologies
- Conduct research activities that produce high-quality outputs and generate research income.
- Support the development of research teams and mentor HDR students.
- Contribute to a positive workplace and culture through internal service while also making significant external contributions to the community and profession.
- Actively engage in professional development activities and maintain currency in contemporary learning, teaching, and research approaches.

Appointment may be made at one of the following profiles depending on your qualifications, experience, and career aspirations:
- Lecturer (Teaching and Research)
- Lecturer (Education Specialist)

For a Teaching and Research appointment, you will also conduct and publish high-quality research, pursue collaborative and externally funded research opportunities, and supervise honours and higher degree research students to successful completion.

For an Education Specialist appointment,



you will advance the scholarship of teaching and learning through systematic evidence gathering, critical reflection and the dissemination of effective educational practice, including opportunities to pursue teaching grants, awards or fellowships.

What will help you succeed To be successful in this role, you will combine relevant discipline expertise with a genuine commitment to student success, scholarly practice and professional collaboration.

You will ideally have

- A doctoral or master’s qualification, or equivalent accreditation, standing, qualifications and experience appropriate to the discipline.
- Teacher registration with an Australian authority, or the capacity to obtain teacher registration and a Working with Children Check.
- Demonstrated teaching and scholarly expertise in Curriculum and Pedagogy - Design and Digital Technologies.
- Expertise in design and digital technologies, which may include educational technologies across the curriculum, animation, game design, industrial design, interaction design or graphic design.
- Experience delivering engaged, reflective and student-centred teaching that supports diverse learners and produces strong learning outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering engaged and reflective approaches to teaching that produce the best possible outcomes for students.
- Demonstrated experience in engaging in the scholarship of teaching and learning that provides the chance to collaborate with others, advances knowledge, and engages with industry.
- High level oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, relating well to people at all levels using diplomacy, tact, and sound judgement, with an ability to build constructive and effective relationships.

Term: Full-time, Continuing appointment (37.5 hours/week)

Salary: Total remuneration range $137,920.92 to $163,017.48 pa (includes salary range of $116,315.34 to $137,480.48 pa, employer super contributions of 17% and annual leave loading)
