The SEAWAY Group is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join our Southbank team in a part-time capacity.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced legal professional looking for genuine flexibility while remaining involved in broad, interesting and commercially focused work.

Reporting to the General Counsel, you will work closely with leaders and key stakeholders across the business, providing practical legal advice across commercial, corporate, compliance and regulatory matters. With exposure across a diverse logistics group, no two days will look quite the same.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Your role will include

- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, including logistics, freight forwarding, transport, warehousing, agency, supplier, procurement, confidentiality, property and leasing agreements.
- Advising the business on commercial risk, contractual rights and obligations, regulatory compliance, privacy and cybersecurity, competition and consumer law, and corporate governance.
- Supporting dispute management, claims, external litigation and insurance matters.
- Providing advice and support on employment and workplace relations matters, investigations and compliance reviews.
- Assisting with company secretarial matters and corporate transactions.
- Managing relationships with external legal providers.
- Partnering with stakeholders across the business to deliver practical, commercially focused legal solutions.

ABOUT YOU We are looking for someone who brings strong commercial judgement, excellent communication skills and a pragmatic approach to legal risk.

Ideally, you will have:

- A current Australian practising certificate.
- Approximately 8+ years' post-admission experience gained in private practice, in-house, or a combination of both.
- Strong commercial contract drafting, review and negotiation skills.
- Experience advising on commercial and corporate matters.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work autonomously,



exercise sound judgement and manage competing priorities.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to providing legal advice.

Experience within transport, logistics, supply chain, shipping, customs, freight forwarding, infrastructure or a related industry will be highly regarded, but is not essential. WHAT WE OFFER
