A leading global firm is hiring a senior transactional lawyer, 5 to 8 PQE, into a new role in its Melbourne legal transformation practice. The role works directly with major corporate and banking clients on complex transactions, helping shape how each matter is structured and delivered.
The role
This is a new role, created as the practice moves from supporting internal teams to advising clients directly. You'll work with clients on the kind of matters that don't always have a precedent. This means you'll help determine how each transaction should be structured and delivered, including where technology adds value and where legal judgement is required.
The practice is built on the transactional experience lawyers bring to it, and you'll draw on yours on every matter. No two matters run the same way.
What makes this different?
- Client-facing from the outset, and strong exposure to AI-enabled legal delivery:
skills that are increasingly sought after by in-house teams and private practice
- Exposure to complex matters, where you will utilise your transactional experience as a foundation
- Hybrid working within a leading global firm, without the top-tier billable hours figure
You will bring
- 5 to 8 years' post-admission experience in corporate, M&A;, real estate or finance transactions, ideally gained at a top-tier or leading mid-tier firm
- Solid experience managing or supporting complex transactions, from due diligence through to completion.
- A considered view on how legal technology and generative AI should change transactional practice. Training is provided, but of course any prior experience is welcome
