Company Description DM Plastics & STEEL Pty Ltd is a major Australian manufacturer of polyethylene (poly) pipe based in Adelaide, South Australia. The family-owned business specialises in Metric and Rural poly pipe solutions for water movement, mining, domestic applications, and large infrastructure projects. The company manufactures pipe up to DN630mm in diameter across a wide range of classes and lengths, serving diverse project requirements.

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Maintenance Fitter role based in the Greater Adelaide Area.

The Maintenance

Fitter will perform day-to-day maintenance, repair, and fitting work on manufacturing plant and machinery used in poly pipe production.

Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical issues, conducting scheduled preventive maintenance, and ensuring machinery operates safely and efficiently. The role involves responding to breakdowns, replacing worn or faulty parts, and collaborating with production teams to minimise downtime.





The Maintenance

Fitter will also support continuous improvement initiatives, follow workplace health and safety procedures, and maintain accurate maintenance records.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in Plant Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance for manufacturing environments.
- Candidates should possess hands-on Maintenance & Repair skills for mechanical systems and production equipment.
- Candidates should possess practical experience working with industrial Machinery and equipment used in plastics or metal manufacturing.
- Candidates should possess proven Fitting skills, including assembly, alignment, and installation of mechanical components.
- Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Certificate III or IV in Mechanical Fitting or equivalent) is highly beneficial.
- Understanding of workplace health and safety standards and ability to work safely with tools and machinery.
- Ability to read technical drawings, use measuring instruments, and maintain accurate maintenance documentation.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, plastics, or industrial setting and the ability to work in a team-oriented setting
