As our invaluable Maintenance Officer, you will be accountable for the provision of essential safety, preventative and breakdown maintenance in consultation with the Property Services Department & Maintenance Team Leader.

The Maintenance

Officer works closely with the Maintenance Team Leader, Property Services team and site leadership to identify and resolve maintenance issues, manage preventative maintenance requirements, coordinate contractors and ensure the physical environment supports the safe and effective delivery of residential aged care services.

You’ll also make an impact by:

- Taking ownership and accountability for the day-to-day maintenance requirements of the allocated residential aged care sites.
- Ensuring maintenance activities minimise disruption to residents and site operations wherever reasonably practicable.
- Maintaining the physical environment to a safe, functional and appropriate standard for residents, staff and visitors.
- Delivering preventative, reactive and breakdown maintenance across site buildings and grounds, infrastructure, plant, equipment and assets.
- Conducting routine statutory, regulatory and organisational checks on time and to standard.
- Supporting the ongoing compliance of site infrastructure, plant, equipment and essential services with relevant legislation, regulations, standards and organisational requirements.
- Coordinating and oversee contractors attending the allocated site to undertake maintenance, servicing, repairs and compliance activities
- Participating in the after-hours and emergency response roster as required.




- Responding appropriately and promptly to urgent maintenance issues and incidents.

What you’ll bring To succeed in this role, you will have:

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in building maintenance and/or plant and equipment maintenance
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and improvement
- Basic proficiency level in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to operate and interact with building management systems and technologies
- Valid NDIS Worker Screening clearance or be willing to obtain one
- Current valid driver's licence

You’ll stand out from the crowd if you have some of the following:

- A trade qualification or Certificate qualification relevant to building maintenance, facilities management, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, building or another relevant trade discipline.
- Experience working in residential aged care, healthcare, community services, commercial property or a similarly regulated environment.
- Experience working with essential services, fire systems, emergency systems, plant and equipment or building management systems.
- Experience working within a preventative maintenance program and/or computerised maintenance management system.
- Experience working with older people or in an environment supporting vulnerable people.
- Knowledge of relevant building, safety, compliance and maintenance requirements applicable to residential aged care
