The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Planning Superintendent – Fixed Plant to join our team and support our mining client in NSW.

This role will lead the fixed plant maintenance planning and scheduling function, ensuring maintenance activities are properly scoped, planned, resourced and scheduled to support safe and efficient plant operation.

The role is initially a 6-month contract, with the potential for permanent employment for the right person.

Flexible roster options are available, including FIFO from Brisbane or Sydney, or DIDO for candidates based locally.

What You'll Be Doing

- Lead and develop the fixed plant maintenance planning and scheduling team
- Manage the maintenance backlog and ensure work is prioritised appropriately
- Ensure work orders are properly scoped, planned and ready for execution
- Develop weekly and longer-term maintenance schedules in collaboration with Maintenance and Operations
- Develop detailed job plans covering labour, materials, equipment, tools and specialist requirements
- Coordinate materials and procurement requirements ahead of scheduled work
- Support planning for shutdowns, major maintenance campaigns and planned outages
- Monitor schedule compliance, backlog health and other key planning KPIs




- Ensure accurate maintenance information and work history are maintained within the CMMS
- Work with Reliability and Engineering teams to incorporate maintenance strategy changes into executable work
- Identify and resolve planning, resourcing and scheduling constraints
- Provide clear maintenance planning reporting and forward visibility to site leadership

What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in maintenance planning and scheduling, ideally at Superintendent, Manager or Senior Planner level
- Strong fixed plant mining experience
- Experience leading or coordinating a maintenance planning team
- Strong understanding of maintenance work management, backlog management and scheduling
- Demonstrated experience developing detailed job plans and coordinating labour and materials
- Experience with shutdowns, major maintenance campaigns or plant outages
- Strong CMMS experience and understanding of maintenance planning KPIs
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work effectively across Maintenance, Operations, Processing, Reliability, Engineering and Supply
- Robust leadership, organisation and problem-solving skills
- Relevant trade, engineering or technical qualification is desirable
