Join Wagga Wagga City Council’s Infrastructure Services team and play an important role in planning and coordinating the maintenance of Council’s transport and public infrastructure assets.
As the Maintenance Works Programmer, you’ll develop and manage annual and forward maintenance programs, using asset condition, risk, service levels, inspection information and operational requirements to determine where maintenance activities are needed and how they should be prioritised.
You’ll work closely with engineering, operations, asset management and delivery teams to turn asset data and operational information into practical maintenance programs that support the safety, performance and long-term sustainability of Council’s infrastructure.
The role also provides leadership and supervision to Asset Officers, making this an opportunity to contribute to both the effective delivery of Council’s maintenance program and the development of a collaborative and accountable team.

- Remuneration of $3,476.98 gross per fortnight with the opportunity to progress to $4,172.38 gross per fortnight + superannuation (12%).

As The Maintenance Works Programmer, You Will
- Develop and maintain annual and forward maintenance programs across Council’s transport and public infrastructure.
- Use asset condition, risk, service levels,
inspections and operational information to prioritise maintenance works.
- Coordinate maintenance programming with operational teams and support the transition of assets from maintenance to capital renewal.
- Use asset management systems and data to inform programming decisions and identify emerging maintenance needs and risks.
- Prepare programs, reports and briefings to support effective decision-making.
- Allocate programmed works to the appropriate Works Supervisor or Coordinator.
- Lead and support Asset Officers, including allocating work, setting priorities and monitoring performance.
- Work collaboratively with engineering, operations, finance and asset management teams to deliver practical and cost-effective outcomes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, asset lifecycle planning and sound governance.
You'll Be Successful In This Role If You
- Have relevant qualifications in infrastructure, asset management, planning, project delivery or a related discipline.
- Have substantial experience in maintenance planning, asset management or infrastructure programming.
- Can analyse asset condition, risk and operational information to prioritise works.
- Have strong analytical, problem-solving and planning skills.
- Are confident using asset management systems, GIS and Microsoft Office.
- Have well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Can lead and support a team while working effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Are organised, adaptable and able to manage competing priorities.
- Have a strong focus on safety, service delivery, value for money and continuous improvement.
