About the team

Our Real Estate M&A; Transaction Services team focusses on providing strategic insights and advice to market leading clients across the full spectrum of the Real Estate sector, at all stages of the M&A; lifecycle. From pre-transaction analysis and due diligence to advising on strategic growth and funding initiatives during the investment ownership period and ultimately to exit whether through IPO or sale. Our team see transactions from end to end.

What will your typical day look like?

As a Manager or Associate Director, you will play a key role in driving the delivery of engagements and help your clients execute complex transactions. You’ll deliver commercial and financial insights through pre-acquisition analysis, financial due diligence, forecast reviews, and leveraging your general financial analysis skills. You’ll also have access to Deloitte M&A;’s extensive accelerators and assets, including our iDeal M&A; analytics platform. In this role, you will:

- Drive the delivery of financial due diligence engagements, as well as preparation of data-centric analysis and dashboards;
- Develop your knowledge across the real estate sector, working on a range of transactions across data centres, industrial, residential and office sectors;
- Provide strategic advice to our clients undertaking acquisitions, divestments, capital raisings and Initial Public Offering tranasctions
- Work with leading Australian private and listed corporates, global enterprises, private equity firms and financial sponsors to execute complex transactions;
- Be part of a growing team that is passionate about developing you and your career in M&A;
- Mentor teams on a variety of M&A; transactions, coaching a team of talented M&A; practitioners;




- Develop long-lasting relationships with clients in the real estate sector;
- Quickly develop a deep understanding of businesses through analysis of historical trading, quality of earnings, cash flow, working capital, net debt, capital expenditure, forecasts and underlying assumptions and drivers of business performance;
- Work directly with the Directors and/or Partners in more complex areas of the transaction with direct exposure to sale agreements and decision-makers;
- Report on potential key opportunities and issues for our clients, including identification of risk or price factors impacting investment decisions as well as areas of opportunity.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you. You are a driven, ambitious and talented accounting / finance professional with:

- 5+ years of professional experience in a finance team (controllers, FP&A;, etc.), audit, assurance, financial due diligence or corporate finance
- Experience in, or a passion for, the property sector (working for a property company or advisor on property transactions)
- Structured thinking style with focus on detail to support financial analysis required in a complex transaction
- Experience in performing financial due diligence assignments in a transaction environment or business combination experience;
- Exposure to or interest in the broader deal/ transaction process or M&A; lifecycle
- Sound understanding of accounting principles and concepts
- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills and a dedication to teamwork;
- Coaching,
