Perth Hire Shop is looking for a practical mechanic to help maintain the equipment our customers rely on every day.
You'll work across a varied fleet, from EWPs and earthmoving equipment to generators, small motors and concrete machinery.
This is a hands-on role for someone who likes variety, can work through faults methodically and takes pride in returning equipment to service in good condition.
Key responsibilities
- Maintaining earthmoving equipment, generators, concrete machinery and small motorised equipment
- Servicing and repairing EWPs, including scissor lifts and boom lifts
- Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
- Carrying out repairs and replacing worn or damaged components
- Completing equipment inspections, pre-hire checks and repairs after return
- Identifying faults that could affect safe operation and escalating them promptly
- Keeping service records and updating equipment maintenance information
- Helping prioritise repairs so equipment is ready for upcoming hires
- Maintaining an organised, secure workshop and looking after tools and parts
About you
- Mechanical background and experience working on different types of equipment
- Careful with safety and comfortable solving problems
- Clear communication with the operations team
- Experience with EWPs, small engines, generators or construction equipment preferred
- Relevant mechanical trade qualification preferred
- Current driver's licence
