An award-winning engineering company in Wodonga, VIC is seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer/Draftperson to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Your new role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll play a key role in providing mechanical design, drafting, and project delivery. The position is primarily responsible for the development of mechanical designs, detailed drawings, fabrication drawings and associated technical documentation using SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD.

- Design mechanical systems, machinery and equipment using 3D CAD software
- Develop detailed manufacturing drawings, assemblies and bills of materials
- Work closely with production teams to ensure designs are practical
- Conduct engineering calculations, analysis and design validation activities
- Support project delivery through technical documentation and engineering change management
- Collaborate with electrical, automation and project engineering teams
- Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide technical support during manufacturing, installation and commissioning phases




- Liaise with suppliers and customers regarding technical requirements

What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

- Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
- Experience in mechanical design within manufacturing, industrial, automation, machinery or engineering environments
- Proficiency with SOLIDWORKS, Inventor, AutoCAD or similar 3D CAD software
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, mechanical systems and engineering principles
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and customer requirements
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- A proactive attitude and desire to work in a cooperative environment
