Our client is a respected Australian engineering business designing and manufacturing equipment for the bulk materials handling sector. This opportunity offers a developing RPEQ engineer the chance to work across design, product improvement and project delivery, with support from experienced engineering leadership.
You will see your designs progress from concept and detailed drawings through to fabrication and use in the field. The work spans mining, mineral processing, sugar, ports, quarrying and manufacturing.

The opportunity
Working closely with engineering leadership, project teams and fabrication, you will design and develop mechanical equipment and support projects from concept through to production.
Your work will include:
- Mechanical design of bulk materials handling equipment and associated systems
- 3D modelling in Autodesk Inventor and detailed 2D drafting
- Preparing fabrication drawings and engineering documentation
- Applying engineering calculations, first principles and relevant standards to design decisions
- Providing technical input to internal projects and product development
- Resolving design and manufacturing challenges with the fabrication team
- Supporting continuous improvement of existing products and processes
- Taking increasing ownership of engineering outcomes as your experience grows
What we are looking for
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Current RPEQ registration in Mechanical Engineering, ideally gained recently
- Practical mechanical design experience, preferably involving heavy fabrication or manufactured equipment
- Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor
- Sound engineering fundamentals and the ability to explain and defend design decisions
- An interest in bulk materials handling, conveyors, mining, mineral processing or heavy industry
- A collaborative approach and a willingness to stay close to the workshop and the finished product
- Full Australian working rights
- Relevant Australian experience
