About the Role

You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH). It is one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated social worker to join the Social Work Department at RPAH. This temporary part time position is located within our Women’s and Children’s Health Team. The team covers maternity, the birthing unit, neonatal intensive care, paediatrics, fertility, fetal medicine and the antenatal clinic. You will be part of a large, dedicated and highly skilled department working with culturally and socially diverse patients and their families. The position is also required to provide support to other areas within the hospital as required, and applicants are advised that at times the position involves working with vulnerable people and people experiencing trauma. This may include supporting parents experiencing perinatal and pregnancy loss.

Applicants are also advised that this position includes ongoing participation in the after-hours on call crisis service, including weekends. We appreciate that Social Work in public health can be both challenging and rewarding,

Ideal Candidate

- Bachelor or post graduate degree in Social Work that provides eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
- Knowledge, skills and clinical experience in Social Work clinical practice.
- High level written and verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
