Handyman / Maintenance Person – Murray Gardens Retirement Village

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Person to join our welcoming and friendly team at Murray Gardens Retirement Village in East Albury NSW on a Part Time basis, working 2 days per week.

Reporting to the Village Manager, you will play an important role in maintaining our village grounds, buildings and facilities to ensure a safe, attractive and enjoyable environment for our residents. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work and is committed to delivering outstanding service.

Part Time Position - Thursday & Friday | 7:00am to 3:00pm

Award rate $30.34-$33.87 per hour base + super, dependent on qualifications, experience and applicable award classification

The Position

Reporting to the Village Manager, you will be responsible for:

- Maintaining buildings, plant, equipment, gardens and grounds
- Attending to reactive and preventative maintenance activities
- Coordinating trades and contractors to complete repairs promptly
- Monitoring and addressing pest control requirements
- Cleaning and maintaining external village facilities
- Following Workplace Health & Safety policies and reporting hazards or incidents
- Assisting with general handyman tasks across the village as required

We're on the lookout for someone with:

- General handyman, maintenance or property maintenance experience
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Trade qualification or relevant maintenance experience (desirable) Higher award classifications may apply to suitably qualified candidates
- Experience within retirement living, aged care or hospitality environments (advantageous)
- Current unrestricted Driver Licence
- Current Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (or willingness to obtain)
- First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)




- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment including Drug & Alcohol Testing
