Fleet Manager – SIXT Car & Truck Rental

Salary:$80,000 – $90,000 per annum + superannuation
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to plan, organise and control our rental vehicle fleet across three Melbourne branches. Reporting to Managing Director, you will manage a fleet of approximately 350 vehicles and lead 1 fleet staff, ensuring vehicles are safe, compliant, cost-effective, and available to meet customer demand.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, organise and control the purchase, sale, and disposal of rental vehicles.
Coordinate vehicle leasing arrangements and manage relationships with dealers, lessors, and suppliers.
Organise and oversee vehicle maintenance, servicing, repairs, and inspections, including fuel and equipment requirements.
Plan and manage vehicle allocation, utilisation, and transfers between branches.
Manage the fleet budget, monitor operating costs, and implement cost-control measures.
Ensure fleet compliance with registration, roadworthiness, licensing, and relevant Victorian and Australian regulations.
Manage insurance, accident and damage claims, and fines and tolls.
Maintain fleet records and prepare operational and performance reports for senior management.
Supervise,



roster and direct fleet staff, and resolve operational and customer issues affecting fleet availability.
Skills and Experience
Minimum 1-2 years' experience managing a vehicle fleet, preferably in vehicle rental, leasing or transport.
Diploma or higher in fleet, transport, logistics or business management, or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated experience in vehicle purchasing/disposal, supplier management and budget control.
Proven ability to supervise and lead a team.
Sound knowledge of vehicle maintenance, servicing, and compliance requirements.
Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with fleet management and administrative systems.
