Nursery / Volunteer Coordinator (Job Share)The Community Environment Network (CEN) is seeking a job share Nursery / Volunteer Coordinator for its Wildplant Community Nursery located in Ourimbah, Central Coast NSW.
This initial 6-month casual position (10 hours/week) may be extended and is under the direction of the CEO.CEN is an alliance of individuals and organisations dedicated to ecologically sustainable development.
Activities include advocacy, education, community engagement, supporting member organisations, and environmental monitoring.Oversee daily nursery operations, plant propagation, biosecurity, hygiene, and quality controlAdvise visitors about native plants and sustainable gardeningOperate and maintain nursery equipment and irrigation systemsMaintain nursery records and report maintenance requirementsSupport plant production for landscaping and revegetation projectsBuild positive relationships with customers, volunteers and community groupsSupport community engagement,
education, and environmental awareness initiativesWork safely and contribute to a positive team cultureSelection Criteria:Commitment to CEN's aims and objectivesProven experience in production nursery management and propagating Australian native plantsExperience with irrigation systems and nursery equipmentStrong communication, customer service and digital skillsAbility to supervise, train, and support a diverse volunteer teamStrong commitment to workplace health and safety, including current First Aid CertificateWorking With Children Check (WWCC) in NSWCurrent driver's licence and own car with comprehensive insuranceCEN is a not-for-profit, non-government organisation.
