Youth Activities Officer

SALARY: $27,709 - $31,748 p.a + Super

Work Type: Temporary Part Time - 14 hours per week

Location: Julia Reserve - 341E Oran Park Drive, Oran Park 2570

Are you passionate about creating positive opportunities for young people? Join our Community Planning & Development team as a Youth Activities Officer, supporting the delivery of engaging programs, activities and events at the Julia Reserve Youth Centre for young people aged 12-25.

We're looking for an organised and approachable team member who can build positive relationships, create a protected and inclusive environment, and connect young people with relevant information and support services. You'll bring experience working with young people, strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to child safety and community wellbeing.

Essential:

- Certificate level qualification in Youth Services, Community Services or relevant field, and/or experience working with young people
- Demonstrated experience supporting the delivery of youth programs, activities or services that engaged young people aged 12-25
- Experience handling confidential or sensitive information with discretion and appropriate care.
- Sound understanding of privacy and confidentiality requirements when working with young people.
- Demonstrated understanding of child safe practices, safeguarding responsibilities and mandatory reporting requirements
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with young people, families, colleagues and stakeholders
- Well-developed organisational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain one
- Current NSW Working with Children Check clearance
- Current C Class Drivers licence

Desirable:

- Demonstrated understanding of Local Government operations and experience working within a council or similar community-focused environment.
