About the Role
As a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, you will play an significant role in delivering outstanding teaching, supporting student success and contributing to the growth and reputation of the Occupational Therapy program.
Working closely with the Discipline Lead, Course Director and academic colleagues, you will:
- Deliver engaging and contemporary teaching within the Master of Occupational Therapy program.
- Convene and coordinate units across the curriculum.
- Source, supervise and assess student placements.
- Contribute to curriculum design, development and renewal to meet evolving professional standards.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with healthcare providers, community organisations and industry stakeholders.
- Support students in developing practice-based competencies and professional capabilities.
- Undertake impactful research and scholarly activities.
- Supervise student research projects and contribute to Higher Degree Research supervision.
- Collaborate across Health Sciences and the broader university on interdisciplinary initiatives.
For candidates appointed at Senior Lecturer level, the role will also provide opportunities to:
- Provide academic leadership in curriculum innovation and professional practice education.
- Lead strategic initiatives and contribute to the future direction of the Occupational Therapy discipline.
- Mentor and support academic colleagues.
- Drive research development, industry engagement and external collaborations.
- Contribute to accreditation activities, quality improvement and program growth.

About You
We're seeking candidates who are passionate about inclusive and person-centred Occupational Therapy and who are excited by the opportunity to contribute to education, research and industry engagement.
For Lecturer Applicants
You will bring:
- A demonstrated commitment to inclusive,
culturally responsive and person-centred occupational therapy practice and education.
- Contemporary Occupational Therapy practice experience and strong knowledge of current professional and regulatory issues.
- Experience in tertiary teaching and/or the supervision, education or mentoring of students and staff.
- The ability to contribute to curriculum development, coordination and continuous improvement.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to engage effectively with healthcare providers, community organisations and industry partners.
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Evidence of research activity and/or scholarly publication, or a clear capacity and commitment to develop a research profile.
- Experience or potential to supervise student research projects and scholarly activities.
- Experience with contemporary teaching approaches, educational technologies, simulation and flexible learning methods.
For Senior Lecturer Applicants
In addition to the above, you will demonstrate:
- Leadership, innovation or influence within Occupational Therapy practice settings.
- Significant experience leading teaching, curriculum development and educational innovation.
- Demonstrated leadership and contribution to strategic initiatives, service development, accreditation, quality improvement or organisational change.
- Leadership in implementing evidence-informed learning and teaching approaches.
- Experience supervising Higher Degree Research candidates and research projects, or the capacity to develop this.
- A developing or established record of research impact, collaboration and research funding.
- Experience contributing to industry partnerships, knowledge translation initiatives and research development.
Qualifications
- AHPRA registered occupational therapist
- A master's qualification in occupational therapy or related discipline and significant contemporary professional experience.
Additionally, applicants must hold a doctoral qualification, be undertaking doctoral studies, or demonstrate the capacity and commitment to undertake doctoral studies. Appointment at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level will be based on the applicant's overall qualifications, experience, leadership, and demonstrated impact in professional, academic and/or strategic contexts, rather than doctoral qualification alone.
