Kiosk Supervisor - The Australian Reptile Park
Lead. Inspire. Keep Things Moving
Are you an experienced hospitality or food-service supervisor who loves a fast-paced, high-volume environment?
Do you thrive when there are customers lining up, orders flying out, a team to coordinate and plenty happening all at once?
Then this could be the role for you!
The Australian Reptile Park is looking for an enthusiastic, hands‑on Full-Time Kiosk Supervisor to join our team and help keep our busy food and beverage operation running smoothly.
First things first - this isn't your typical café job!
If you're picturing a quiet café serving coffees and smashed avo, this probably isn't the role for you!
Think more along the lines of working in a super busy school canteen, football club canteen, sporting venue or high-volume takeaway environment.
Our kiosk can get VERY busy, particularly on weekends, public holidays and school holidays. You'll be managing queues, coordinating staff, keeping food moving, jumping on the registers when needed, restocking, solving problems and making sure our guests are looked after - often all at the same time!
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys the buzz of a busy service and can keep their cool when things get hectic.
About the Role
As our Kiosk Supervisor, you'll be right in the middle of our daily food and beverage operations.
Working closely with our Retail and Workforce Manager, you'll take a hands‑on leadership role in keeping the kiosk operating efficiently while ensuring our team delivers friendly, rapid and reliable service to thousands of Australian Reptile Park guests.
You’ll lead from the front - working alongside the team, jumping in wherever you’re needed and making sure service keeps moving.
This is a hands‑on operational role, not a behind-the-scenes management position.
What you'll be doing
- Lead, coach and motivate a team during busy service periods
- Work alongside the team and lead by example
- Manage busy customer queues and high‑volume service periods
- Ensure orders are prepared and served efficiently and accurately
- Deliver friendly, professional customer service
- Confidently handle customer enquiries and resolve issues
- Operate registers and POS systems and manage cash handling
- Daily food preparation and service as required
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, cleanliness and presentation standards are maintained
- Monitor stock levels and complete daily ordering and half‑yearly stocktakes
- Keep the kiosk clean, organised and well-stocked throughout the day
- Troubleshoot POS and computer issues when required
- Help coordinate staff breaks and daily workflow
- Support the training and development of kiosk team members
- Ensure workplace health and safety procedures are followed
- Step in and get your hands dirty when the team needs you!
- Help create a positive, energetic and welcoming environment for both guests and staff
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is confident, organised, practical and genuinely enjoys working in a busy food‑service environment.
You’ll ideally have
- 3–4 years' experience in a hospitality, food-service or high-volume customer service supervisory role
- Experience working in a busy café, canteen, takeaway, sporting club, fast food outlet or similar environment
- Strong customer service skills
- Experience leading and supporting a team
- A current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- Experience using POS systems and handling cash
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
- The ability to stay calm, organised and positive when things get VERY busy
- A strong work ethic and willingness to jump in and help wherever needed
- The ability to give clear direction and confidently manage a team during busy periods
- A current First Aid Certificate
- A current NSW Working With Children Check
Most importantly
- We want someone who likes being busy!
- Someone who doesn't panic when the queue gets long.
- Someone who can see what needs doing and just gets stuck in.
- Someone who can lead a team while still being prepared to jump on a register, make food, restock the fridge, clean down a bench or help wherever they're needed.
If you've worked in a busy school canteen or football club canteen and thought, "Yep, I know exactly how to handle this!" - we'd love to hear from you.
This is a full-time position – 38 hours per week, working across five consecutive days (Tuesday to Saturday).
Due to the nature of our business, applicants must be available to work:
- Weekends
- Public holidays
- School holiday periods
- Busy peak trading periods
Why Join the Australian Reptile Park
