Permanent part-time/ full-time position for an experienced Support Worker

Your Journey Your Choice Support Services is looking for experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team across South East Queensland and Northern NSW .

We are looking for both male and female Support Workers who are genuinely looking for part-time or full-time employment and are prepared to make a long-term commitment to our organisation.

We are NOT looking for casual workers.

We want people who are reliable, committed and interested in becoming a consistent and valued member of the YJYC team.

Experience REQUIRED

You must have previous experience working with people with complex support needs , including experience in one or more of the following areas:

- Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID)
- Functional Neurological Disorder (FND)
- Acquired Brain Injury (ABI)

You must have relevant hands-on experience with complex participants. If you do not have experience working with people with the conditions or support needs listed above, please do not apply, as your application will not progress.

You must also be willing to complete necessary participant specific training and courses.

- Can demonstrate that they understand boundaries through their actions — not simply say that they have them
- Are confident working in intense, complex and unpredictable environments
- Can remain calm, qualified and respectful when situations become challenging
- Are also able to enjoy the fun,



positive and rewarding moments that come with disability support
- Understand the importance of consistency and routine for participants
- Can build positive relationships without becoming over-involved
- Are reliable, punctual and accountable
- Can follow support plans, behaviour support strategies, risk management plans and organisational procedures
- Communicate clearly with participants, families, colleagues and other professionals
- Are comfortable receiving feedback and continuously developing their skills
- Want to build a long-term career with YJYC , rather than simply pick up shifts when convenient

Our Support Workers need to be able to connect with participants while maintaining professional boundaries, support genuine choice and control, manage difficult situations safely, and remain consistent when things don't go to plan.

Some days can be challenging. Other days can involve plenty of laughter, achievement and genuinely rewarding moments.
