What you need
We are seeking an experienced playground inspector and maintenance professional who takes ownership of safety and quality. The ideal candidate will have:
- Level 2 Playground Safety - Operational Inspection qualification - essential
- Minimum 2 years' experience in playground inspections and maintenance - essential
- Current manual driver's licence
- White card
- Strong understanding of playground hazards, equipment condition and surfacing requirements
- Practical maintenance skills with hand and power tools
- Ability to work independently and manage inspection schedules
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping
- A proactive approach to safety and maintaining community assets
- Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain
- National Police Check or willingness to obtain
What you will be doing
- Conduct routine visual and operational playground inspections
- Identify hazards including broken glass, sharp edges, vandalism and surface hazards
- Inspect playground equipment, moving components, fixings and surfacing
- Check softfall areas and identify maintenance requirements
- Repair minor damage to rubber wet-pour and playground tiles
- Complete minor maintenance including tightening fixings, lubricating components, removing rust and sanding timber
- Identify hazards and repair, isolate or make unsafe areas secure
- Maintain accurate inspection and maintenance records
- Escalate significant defects when required
- Follow all WHS procedures and safe work practices in public spaces
- Support the team in maintaining high standards across council playgrounds and open spaces
