Why Join Us

The Medical Division at Coffs Harbour Health Campus provides comprehensive, patient-centred care across Medical A Ward, Medical B Ward and the Medical Assessment Unit, supporting more than 70 beds dedicated to patients with acute and complex medical conditions across a broad range of specialties. The Medical Assessment Unit offers a fast-paced environment focused on rapid assessment, treatment, stabilisation and discharge planning, providing valuable opportunities to develop advanced clinical assessment, critical thinking and multidisciplinary care coordination skills.

As a Registered Nurse, you will deliver evidence-based nursing care through comprehensive patient assessment, clinical decision-making, care planning, implementation and evaluation. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will coordinate patient care, respond to clinical deterioration, support patient flow and discharge planning, provide education to patients and families, and contribute to mentoring junior staff. You will also participate in quality improvement and professional development initiatives while promoting a positive, collaborative workplace culture.

This role operates within a seven-day rotating roster, including morning, afternoon and night shifts, and offers an excellent opportunity to further develop expertise in acute medicine, complex care, chronic disease management and multidisciplinary care coordination within a supportive and progressive healthcare environment. We are seeking adaptable, compassionate and motivated Registered Nurses committed to delivering high-quality,

person-centred care and achieving excellent patient outcomes.

What you'll be doing

Practicing and promoting safe, efficient and effective nursing care that reflects current standards of nursing practices and current Mid North Coast Local Health District policies and procedures.

About You

You are a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, demonstrating the professional accountability and clinical competence required to deliver safe, high-quality patient care. Your nursing experience has equipped you with well-developed clinical skills, knowledge, and judgment relevant to providing care within outpatient and acute hospital settings, enabling you to respond effectively to a wide range of patient needs.

You possess strong clinical problem-solving abilities and consistently apply critical thinking to assess situations, identify priorities, and implement appropriate interventions that maximise patient outcomes. Your commitment to evidence-based practice supports the delivery of safe, patient-centred care in often complex and dynamic healthcare environments.

You are an effective communicator who uses information technology proficiently and demonstrates excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Your ability to build positive relationships with patients, families, and colleagues contributes to a collaborative healthcare environment and ensures clear, accurate communication across all aspects of patient care.

Working effectively within multidisciplinary teams, you have the ability to plan, coordinate, and evaluate patient care to achieve positive health outcomes. You are committed to delivering outcome-focused care while maintaining a patient-centred approach that promotes dignity, respect, and continuity of care throughout the patient journey.

You are adaptable, reliable, and committed to meeting the operational requirements of a healthcare service, including participating in a seven-day rotating roster, public holidays, and night duty. Your flexibility and dedication ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality nursing care and support the ongoing needs of patients and the broader healthcare team.
