EDUCATION ASSISTANTS REQUIRED FOR THE FOLLOWING POSITIONS -

2 x Early Childhood Education Assistant (1.0 FTE, Ongoing, Commencing 01/01/2027)

1 x Early Childhood Education Assistant (0.4 FTE, Fixed Term, 01/01/2027 to 31/12/2027)

1 x Inclusive Learning Support Education Assistant (1.0 FTE, Ongoing, Commencing 01/01/2027)

1 x Inclusive Learning Support Education Assistant (0.6 FTE, Ongoing, Commencing 01/01/2027)

Position details:

Star of the Sea Primary School are seeking applications from enthusiastic and innovative Inclusive Learning Support and Early Childhood Education Assistants to join our vibrant learning community. We are looking for assistants who are passionate about learning, committed to fostering a nurturing and engaging environment and eager to contribute to a collaborative and faith-filled school culture.

Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School is a triple stream co-educational school of approximately 800 students from the Early Learning Centre (3 Year Old) to Year 6. The school is situated in the centre of Rockingham giving easy access to the surrounding suburbs. The school operates a 3 Year Old Early Learning Centre (open 5 days per week from 6am – 6pm) and a 4 Year Old Kindergarten Program operates (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) with 2 additional days (Thursday and Friday) that are optional.

Out of School Hours Care and Vacation Care are available at the school.

Star of the Sea offers a broad curriculum with specialist teachers across the learning areas of Science, ICT, PE, LOTE (Auslan) and Music. Star of the Sea has excellent IT infrastructure and resources as well as a variety of playground equipment, basketball courts and a large oval. Explicit boundaries,



routines and a consistent whole school approach allows students to flourish in a supportive learning environment.

As a West Australian Catholic school, we are part of the system of schools supported by Catholic Education Western Australia (CEWA). At the local level we are integral in the life of the local parish of ‘Our Lady of Lourdes’.

Selection Criteria:

- Understanding of and commitment to, the ethos and mission of Catholic Education;

- Experience as an Inclusive Learning Support Team Education Assistant or Early Childhood Education Assistant;

- Demonstrated flexibility, empathy and compassion in supporting the diverse needs of students;

- The ability to work effectively with individual students and small groups to support their academic, social and emotional development;

- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and build positive professional relationships as part of a dedicated teaching team;

- A positive, professional, team-oriented educator who demonstrates a cooperative and collaborative approach, values feedback and is committed to continual professional growth;

- Completed or be willing to complete Senior First Aid Certificate.

Qualifications Required:

- Certificate IV in School Based Education Support (Inclusive Learning Education Assistants);





- Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or working towards (Early Childhood Education Assistants);

- Accreditation to work in a Catholic School (or willing to obtain).
