Engage Us is looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join our client's team for an initial six-month contract.

We're looking for someone who knows their way around payroll, enjoys solving problems and can jump straight in and make a difference. You'll be joining an established Payroll and People & Culture team as they transition into business-as-usual operations following the implementation of their new payroll and time & attendance systems.
n Important: Previous experience using UKG Ready and/or Payroll Metrics is essential.
n
What you'll be doing
n You'll play a hands‐on role supporting the team across end-to-end payroll, including:
n
n
Processing and validating payroll data using UKG Ready and/or Payroll Metrics
n
Reviewing timesheets, overtime, allowances, leave and other payroll inputs
n
Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies and system issues
n




Completing payroll reconciliations and data checks
n
Responding to employee and manager payroll queries
n
Supporting the team through the post‐implementation stabilisation period
n
Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and systems
n
Helping develop and refine payroll procedures and documentation
n
Working closely with Payroll, People & Culture and operational teams
n

What we're looking for
n You'll be a great fit if you have:

Proven experience in an end-to-end payroll role
n
Essential experience using UKG Ready and/or Payroll Metrics
n
Robust knowledge of Australian payroll practices and legislation
n
Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy
n
Strong reconciliation, troubleshooting and problem‐solving skills
n
Experience investigating payroll and system issues
n
The ability to hit the ground running and manage competing priorities
n
A practical, positive and solutions‐focused attitude
n
Experience supporting payroll through a system implementation or transition is highly regarded
n
