The Appointment
As Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of low-value transactional purchasing across Corporate Services.
Managing approximately 30 purchase orders per week, you will work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to obtain quotes, raise and process purchase orders, follow up requirements and ensure purchasing activities are completed accurately and efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing end-to-end transactional purchasing activities.
- Obtaining quotes and liaising directly with suppliers and vendors.
- Raising, processing and following up purchase orders.
- Responding to purchasing queries from internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Maintaining accurate purchasing records and audit trails.
- Ensuring purchasing activities comply with relevant procurement policies and governance requirements.
- Supporting shared procurement communication channels and maintaining relevant information.
- Identifying opportunities to improve purchasing processes and efficiencies.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the procurement function.
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and procurement colleagues.
The Appointee
You will bring a minimum of three years' experience within purchasing or procurement, ideally gained within a corporate environment.
Importantly, your experience will be focused on corporate purchasing rather than warehouse, inventory or logistics-based procurement. You will understand the end-to-end purchase order process and be comfortable managing multiple internal requirements while maintaining strong attention to detail and compliance.
You will ideally demonstrate:
- 3+ years' experience in corporate purchasing or procurement.
- Strong end-to-end purchase order experience.
- Experience obtaining supplier quotes and managing vendor communication.
- Excellent attention to detail and record keeping.
- Strong stakeholder and customer service skills.
- The ability to organise and prioritise your workload effectively.
- Confident written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach.
- Experience using D365 or a similar purchasing/procurement system would be highly regarded.
