Tell me about this role:
Amentum are seeking an experienced Communications and Data Links Engineer to join a major Defence capability acquisition program. In this role, you will provide specialist engineering expertise across communications systems, tactical data links, network architectures and interoperability activities. Working within a multidisciplinary project team, you will support the development, integration and delivery of mission-critical communications capabilities that enable effective operational outcomes for Defence.

What will I be doing day to day?

- Assess communications systems, tactical data links and network architectures against operational requirements
- Support the design, integration and verification of communications and data link capabilities
- Develop technical documentation, architecture products and engineering recommendations
- Analyse communication system performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Work closely with Defence, industry partners and key stakeholders to support capability delivery
- Contribute to systems integration activities and interoperability assessments
- Identify and manage technical risks, issues and dependencies




- Provide technical advice to support project decisions and capability outcomes

What sort of skills do I need?

- Relevant engineering qualifications and eligibility to obtain or hold a Defence security clearance
- Experience working with Defence communications systems, networks and tactical data links
- Strong understanding of communications architectures, SATCOM and interoperability principles
- Ability to analyse complex technical problems and develop practical solutions
- Experience producing engineering documentation, technical reports and recommendations
- Knowledge of systems engineering principles and Defence acquisition or sustainment environments
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams
- Current NV1 Security Clearance as a minimum
