The ReSet program is delivered by a Consortium led by Wungening Aboriginal Corporation, with Waalitj Foundation and Centrecare Inc. ReSet supports and provides case management for individuals in the transition from prison to the community. The service is targeted at men and women who have been assessed by the Department of Justice as being at medium to high risk of re-offending.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Healing Worker works collaboratively within a dedicated team of group facilitators to deliver AOD Brief Intervention Programs in prison. The Healing Worker may also be required at times to support the parenting team to delivery any Aboriginal Specific Parenting Programs in prison.

The Healing Worker will also support the delivery of the Who's Ya Mob program by providing cultural perspectives and support to young people participating in the group at Banksia Hill Detention Centre.

Who's Ya Mob is a program that encourages young people to self-evaluate, identify the risk of AOD and work towards building resilience and accountability. The program content is designed to assist in making better choices and avoiding a criminally entrenched pathway. This program is delivered once a week at Banksia Hill Detention Centre as part of the Beyond Youth Justice Program.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA (address this in your cover letter)

- Lived and/or living experience of challenges facing Aboriginal access to services that may include: navigating racism, intergenerational trauma, exclusion, stigma, AOD challenges, etc.

- Certificate IV and/or relevant experience in a community services workplace.





- Proven ability to achieve the responsibilities as outlined in this job description.

- Commitment to providing a service consistent with Ngalla Wirrin Wungening guidelines.

- Demonstrated knowledge and respect for Aboriginal culture, protocols, and boundaries.

- Experience and commitment to working collaboratively with clients and within a multi-disciplinary team.

Desirable

- Aboriginality

- Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs, or similar, and/or desire to obtain these skills

- Experience working with client management systems such as Pharos, Lumary, Infoexchange, etc

- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

- Sound computer skills, experience working with MS Office programs and data management systems

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

- National Police Clearance (dated within the last 3 months)

- WA Drivers Licence

- Department of Justice Screening (we'll help successful candidates apply)
