The Opportunity

Are you an experienced Auto Electrician with a strong commitment to safety and maintaining heavy mining equipment? Thiess is seeking an experienced and motivated Auto Electrician to join our high-performing maintenance team at QCoal Northern Hub Coal Project near Collinsville in the Bowen Basin.

As a key member of the maintenance team, you'll be responsible for servicing, repairing and maintaining mobile mining equipment, helping ensure equipment reliability and supporting protected and efficient mining operations.

Roster: Even Time Roster 7/7 Days/Nights | Location: QCoal Northern Hub, Collinsville QLD | Employment Type: Permanent Full-time

As an Auto Electrician, you will:

- Perform servicing, repairs and maintenance on mobile mining equipment in accordance with Thiess servicing and maintenance procedures.
- Complete general maintenance, breakdown repairs, servicing and component change-outs to a high standard.
- Conduct inspections to support equipment reliability and maximise utilisation.
- Perform high-quality electrical installations, including equipment mounting, wiring and testing.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults using relevant OEM and computer-based diagnostic systems.
- Work safely and comply with the Site Safety Health and Management System.

About you

- Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology or equivalent trade qualification.
- Post-trade experience within the mining, heavy earthmoving or hydraulic excavator industry.




- Experience across servicing, maintenance, breakdowns, component change-outs and diagnostics.
- Experience with JDE and OEM computer-based systems, including CAT, Cummins, Hitachi and Liebherr equipment.
- Refrigerant Handling Licence is advantageous.
- Current Standard 11 and relevant coal mining certifications.
- Current open Driver Licence.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship and continuous improvement.
